By qualification I’m a Chemical Engineer. While I have had a fulfilling career in private banking – at ABN Amro, Citibank, Royal Bank of Scotland , I found my calling more than a decade ago. That calling was photography and it gave me a whole new view of the world.

In the time of candid images, my tryst with photography started with clicking pictures for my friends’ big moments – their weddings, their newborns, the first birthday of their babies. I started preserving these precious moments around me and over time I segued into professional infant photography. Capturing a soon-to-be-mama’s first baby bump or that timeless moment when the tiny tot smiles in his sleep… the joy of making memories is unmatched. It’s unadulterated.

And just like that in the pursuit of purity, my companion (my camera) and I, we found ourselves gravitating toward the wild. And here’s when my heady love story with the jungle and its inhabitants began. Wildlife photography became an integral part of life and I started looking forward to leave the hustle and bustle of the city and dive into the forest. Amid the tigers of India and the tuskers of Africa, I have found myself.

Fotokatha is a brand which i created and nurtured. Its my medium to communicate with my audience, share my work, spread the love for wildlife, nature and photography. Storytelling is the essence of fotokatha ( katha is the Hindi word for story telling ) and I try to tell a story with every image. Over the next few years ,I see myself telling more interesting stories from different parts of India and the world and help more people experience this magical world

It’s one thing making your photographs but that the joy is only multiplied when you pass on your passion. Love for nature, animals and a green planet is infectious and it’s one bug I don’t mind spreading.
